A few key bits of information for anyone keen to fish whilst staying at the "The Ferry".
Fishing Hut: By the fishing beat there is a fishing hut for our guests to use. Inside you will find fishing rods, tackle and bait, a gas outdoor cooker, barbecue and complementary tea and coffee.
Trout & Grayling: With half a mile of fishing beat there are numerous idyllic fishing spots. A great way to relax and unwind from a busy life, watching the river go by. The Tay's fame as a salmon river has meant that it has often been ignored for its other types of fishing. This is quite wrong, as its brown trout fishing is excellent and even its sea trout fishing is too often underestimated. The trout season is between 15th March - 6th October and you can fish for grayling and coarse over the winter.
Salmon: The salmon fishing season in Scotland varies by district. For the Tay district, it is from 15 January until 31 October. Salmon permit can be arranged at an additional cost.
